Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji said: “There are many virtues in the Indian systems of medicine, which are, unfortunately, not generally well-recognized. They are inexpensive. They are effective in the cure of many ailments. They are also more or less free of harmful side effects. I know, how in my childhood, my mother used to prepare a kashay or a decoction of ordinary herbs and leaves like Tulsi whenever we had a cough or some other common ailment, and it worked. It worked not only because the formula was good, but also because it came with the mother’s love".
